We exist to be the hands and feet of Christ, serving veterans and the community through faith in action — restoring hope, unity, and faith one minute, one moment, one conversation at a time.

In Polk County, the need for hope, stability, and faith in action is undeniable.

In Bartow, the need for faith in action is urgent and close to home. The city currently has no adult emergency shelter—only a small youth facility—leaving many without refuge. This means many of Bartow’s most vulnerable residents now face homelessness and criminalization for simply having nowhere to go.

At the same time, 14.9% of Bartow residents experience food insecurity, and nearly 47% of local households live below the ALICE Threshold (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed)—working families who still struggle to afford basics like food, childcare, and housing.

Youth in Bartow also face increasing mental-health pressures and exposure to alcohol, vaping, and marijuana use, compounded by trauma and limited safe outlets. While the community offers youth sports and programs, fees and transportation barriers often exclude the very young people who need connection and support most.

This is the mission field that David’s Ministries is called to serve—where faith meets action. DAVID’S (Dedicated Assistance for Veterans and Individuals in Development and Stewardship) works to bridge these local gaps by uniting faith-led outreach, mentorship, mental wellness, food assistance, and housing support.
